Titanium nitride (TiN) is an extremely hard and bright gold ceramic material, often used as a coating in titanium alloy, stainless steel, and aluminium components by the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process to improve the substrate’s surface properties. Applied as a thin coating TiN is used to harden and protect cutting and sliding surfaces, for decorative purposes.
Features and Benefits of TiN Coatings :
- Improved wear, corrosion and oxidation resistance
- Increased surface hardness and durability
- Aesthetic and durable with a luxurious appearance
- Impervious to harsh sunlight, salt, humidity
- Low cost, long lasting alternative to gold finishing
- Tested safe for surgical devices and food processing
- No peeling or flaking of the coating when bent
- Resistant to nearly all chemicals
Titanium Nitride (TiN) plating is using PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) techniques, which is a surface coating technology for protective and decorative coating, tool coating, and other equipment coating applications. PVD Titanium coats are hard, with a high density. It presents solution to many costly and time-consuming problems of traditional wet plating processes.
